West Virginia Entrepreneurship Ecosystem is a flourishing ecosystem of stakeholders. This network connects, co-creates and educates on the importance of entrepreneurship-led economic development as a growth strategy for West Virginia.

Ignite WV

IgniteWV is a competition that provides budding entrepreneurs with the education, skills, contacts, and motivation necessary to create a viable start-up company in West Virginia. Participants pitch their business idea and finalists participate in a four-month program with specialized training, coaching, and resources. 

Leadership WV Session

Leadership West Virginia

Co-owners Carrie White and Tara St. Clair have both participated in Leadership WV, an innovative program that grows, engages and mobilizes leaders to ignite a lifelong passion to move West Virginia forward. The competitive, annual, seven-month training program provides participants unparalleled educational and leadership opportunities.

Bridging Innovation Week is the state’s premier entrepreneurship event. The five-day annual symposium provides promotional, educational, and business development opportunities for business owners, current and prospective entrepreneurs, and entrepreneur serving organizations (ESOs) throughout West Virginia.

Equity in Youth Entrepreneurship Research

The “Equity in Youth Entrepreneurship” project team completed a one-year strategic planning process for the expansion of youth entrepreneurship with an intentional focus on rural and low-income youth across West Virginia. 

Students Working Together at Impact Challenge

Impact Challenge

During this weekend-long competition, high school and college students work in multi-disciplinary teams to explore solutions to some of Appalachia’s greatest challenges. Students hear from guest speakers, meet with field experts, participate in interactive workshops, create media packages around their proposed solutions and pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.
