Founders Carrie White and Tara St. Clair offer a unique set of skills to support innovators looking to start or grow their business. With experience serving entrepreneurs from elementary age to seasoned professionals, Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Experts want to see you succeed.

TARA ST. CLAIR

Co-Founder

Tara St. Clair has a strong commitment to building innovative initiatives that create synergistic relationships between the academic world and the community. She has developed a number of initiatives including the WV High School Business Plan Competition and Impact Challenge which is an immersive weekend experience that gives high school and college students the opportunity to work in teams to define solutions for West Virginia’s most pressing challenges.

Tara co-founded the West Virginia Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in 2019 and currently serves as the Co-Chair for the ecosystem and Bridging Innovation Week.

 

Tara received her M.A. in Higher Education Administration and a B.S. in Business Administration, both from West Virginia University. She received the 2020 WVU Excellence in Community Engagement award, and in 2023, she was named to both the West Virginia Young Guns and Leadership West Virginia.

CARRIE WHITE

Co-Founder

Carrie White has more than two decades of experience providing resources and networking support for entrepreneurs and innovators engaged in idea generation and development through the commercialization process.

​

Carrie has developed entrepreneurship curriculum and taught courses in business law and entrepreneurship at West Virginia University and West Liberty University. In her various roles at these schools, Carrie has facilitated numerous multidisciplinary collaborations and developed and coordinated programming and events to support both students and faculty in entrepreneurial endeavors.

​

Carrie received her B.S. and M.B.A. degrees in business administration from Franciscan University, J.D. from Duquesne University Law School, and Ed.D. from West Virginia University. She is certified in design thinking and was among the 2015 class of Leadership West Virginia.
